Each low-cut Chuck 70 uses a single-color canvas upper, with the black pair offering white Comfortable Shoes contrast stitching while the white pair keeps things tonal. Heel tabs add Moncler and fragment design’s signature motifs, while fragment’s recognizable tooling code details grace each shoe’s extra-thick black foxing on lateral and medial sides alike. Traditional heel badges are spruced up with a duo of fragment hits, and even the two-tone insoles nod to both of the collaborative parties with a veritable laundry list of text graphics. White midsoles with black piping, shiny silver eyelets and classic brown gum outsoles finalize each style.

Midsoles do away with foxing and stripes, opting instead for an entirely monochromatic look. The Converse Black only divergence from this single-colored construction is served up by the heel badges, which add black text and a direct nod to the Renew line. Brown rubber outsoles are recycled as well, with a speckled pattern provided by reused materials. The simple-yet effective palette presented by both of these Chucks can tell a story as well: as it gets dirty, it’ll present a unique, worn-in patina.

Brain Dead has taken the Chuck 70 to the max, monthshopfor reworking the entire silhouette with new graphics, branding, and core components. The upper sports a split canvas look, combining three kinds of cow prints ranging from brown to black to white between the medial, tongue, and lateral panels. Alongside this, Brain Dead’s signature head-shaped logo has been added on the lateral side in the form of rubber, while Converse’s All Star badge appears in leather on the medial.

This time around, the kicks are back in 10 styles including high and low-top options. Offerings Renew Denim x Converse Chuck 70 Ox Black/Navy arrive in an array of colorways including minimal white and black iterations, as well as neon yellow, pink and blue hues. Each pair is adorned with Filip Pagowski’s iconic red heart motif with googly eyes. Contrasting shades are added to the rear of the shoes to accentuate the design, while the two labels’ logos are stamped on the insoles, rounding off the staple look.
